Beyond Destin’s sun-bleached white sands and dazzling emerald waters lies a hidden gem worth exploring. Along the Choctawhatchee Bay, The Village of Baytowne Wharf hosts fireworks, movies, zip lining, rock climbing and plenty for you and the family to get into before stopping for a great meal at one of our favorites, Roberto’s Pizzeria. We sat down with the general manager of Roberto’s, Melissa Tusa, and she gave us the run down on all-things Baytowne Wharf.
“Baytowne Wharf is a family-friendly dining and shopping entertainment complex,” said Melissa. “It is located within the Sandestin Gulf and Beach Resort and it is open to the public! All you have to do is come to the main gate of Sandestin and you’ll be able to come on down to the Wharf.”
This Summer, Baytowne Wharf is hosting a number of events, included weekly family night on Tuesdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Guests can expected a dj-led party atmosphere while practicing social distancing, taking in the sites, and enjoying some fireworks over a good meal. The Roberto’s family and staff welcome you to come have a slice of their famous pies.
“We’ve been around for 19 years,” said Melissa. “We were once located across from the gelato shop here, but we grew from our roots and were able to expand our menu, provide a full bar, and lots of entertainment during all major sporting events. We’re family friendly and we have a little something for everybody!”
Roberto’s specializes in gourmet pizzas and they’ve got a variety to choose from. We had a first-hand experience with the Meat Lover’s, Poggioreale, and their Ultimate Nachos.
